Saturday 27 February at 10.30 in Piazza Teatro Massimo, in the presence of the mayor Salvo Pogliese, a new external defibrillator will be repositioned after the theft of the life-saving tool occurred a few weeks ago.
The President of the Health Council Commission will speak, Sara Pettinato, which promoted the initiative, the heads of the association “L’Angelo Federico” of Mascalucia, chaired by Dario Vellini, who donated the new instrument, and representatives of the Italian Red Cross who made available a new case to replace the damaged one.
The Health Commission reiterates that the city does not give up on the cardioprotection and respect for the common good.
The external defibrillator of Piazza Teatro Massimo, stolen with a vile gesture, was the first installed in the city, a year ago, dedicated to the memory of Raffaele Barresi, a 17-year-old student of the Principe Umberto high school struck down by cardiac arrest in December 2018.
In the memory of Raffaele, the council body immediately promoted the project ‘Raffaele’s heart’, supported by the municipal administration, to spread the culture of first aid in all schools, and the project has never stopped.
