An entrepreneur was threatened by robbers who were stealing his excavator, but their audacity cost them dearly. The officers of the “Lupi Squad” of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Catania arrested a 23-year-old man, who was already known to the authorities for his legal troubles, in the act of robbery with the use of weapons. The alarm was raised by the owner of the company, who witnessed the theft taking place. The robbers were loading the excavator onto a van when they threatened the owner with a gun. However, the owner pretended to be scared and immediately called the police. The police were able to intercept the fleeing van and arrest the 23-year-old suspect. The investigation is now focused on identifying the other four members of the gang through surveillance camera footage.
