CATANIA – The Catania Police Headquarters, in view of the weekend, has ordered the strengthening of the controls aimed at verifying compliance with the anti rules–Covid.
Particular attention was paid to nightlife areas and those which, following an accurate analysis of the data held by the UPGSP, are more critical in terms of mobility.
Between interested places including Piazza Risorgimento, Piazza Federico di Svevia, Viale Mario Rapisardi, Piazza dei Martiri, Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII, Piazza Palestro.
During one of the checks carried out in Piazza Federico di Svevia, an individual was reported for the crimes of resistance to public officials and aggravated damage to state assets. The man who had been ordered to halt, first respected the order, but when the operator approached the car to proceed with the check, he suddenly left again hitting him in the hand with the mirror.
The impact caused the manual signaling device to fall from the policeman’s hands, which was damaged due to the subsequent passage of the same car on the run. The driver of the car, result without a license, was traced to his home, identified and reported.
Also during the checks, one of the subjects stopped and sanctioned, at the time of the check, inveighed against the police operators and for this reason was reported to the judicial authority for the offense of insulting a public official.
A total of 14 sanctions have been issued for non-compliance with the anti-Covid legislation, of which 10 for non-compliance with the curfew (outside their homes without justified reason) and have been withdrawn 12 self-certifications.
