Catania Municipality: competitions for 28 technical instructors and 80 municipal police agents

The Municipality of Catania has published two public competition notices for 80 municipal police officers and 28 technical instructors. These are contracts for 30 hours of indefinite duration. The application for participation in the procedure must be submitted only electronically by 23.59 on June 24, 2024.

For thirty years, the Municipality of Catania has not announced competitions for local government staff. The forecast of the 108 total hires is contained in the 2024-2026 Plan, approved by the municipal council on April 24.

Candidates must meet the following requirements: Italian citizenship or possession of the requirements provided for citizens of the European Union and their family members who do not hold citizenship of a member state that are holders of the right of residence or permanent residence and citizens of third countries who hold a EU residence permit for long-term residents or who hold the refugee status or subsidiary protection status; legal age and not exceeding the maximum age limit provided for by current regulations for retirement; enjoyment of civil and political rights, or not being involved in any of the reasons that prevent possession (for non-Italian candidates and not holders of refugee or subsidiary protection status, the enjoyment of civil and political rights refers to the country of citizenship); not being excluded from active political suffrage and not having been dismissed or discharged from employment with a Public Administration for persistent poor performance or declared disqualified for having obtained the appointment or employment by producing false or invalid documents, or dismissed under current legislative or contractual regulations; not having received criminal convictions with final judgment for crimes that constitute an impediment to employment with a Public Administration; not having ongoing criminal proceedings, administrative proceedings for the application of security or preventive measures, or previous criminal records attributable to oneself in the criminal record; possession of a high school diploma in Geometra or Building Surveyor or Construction, Environment and Territory, obtained after a five-year course of studies, at State Technical Institutes or Schools legally recognized in accordance with current regulations.

Candidates for the public police officer competition must meet the following requirements: Italian citizenship or possession of the requirements of the citizens of the European Union and their family members who do not hold the citizenship of a member state that are holders of the right of residence or permanent residence and citizens of third countries who hold the EU residence permit for long-term residents or who hold the refugee status or subsidiary protection status; legal age and not exceeding the maximum age limit provided for by current regulations for retirement; enjoyment of civil and political rights, or not being involved in any of the reasons that prevent possession (for non-Italian candidates and not holders of refugee or subsidiary protection status, the enjoyment of civil and political rights refers to the country of citizenship); psycho-physical suitability for the specific job, which will be directly ascertained by the administration. Specifically, candidates must be physically fit to perform the functions required for the position under consideration, including: good physical constitution; 16/10 overall vision, with not less than 6/10 in the weaker eye. This vision can be reached with any correction tolerated and with a difference between the two lenses not exceeding three diopters. Contact lenses: are allowed as long as the 16/10 overall vision can also be achieved with normal glasses; normal chromatic and luminous sense; normal hearing function; unconditional physical suitability for the Local Police service and specifically for the operational external service articulated in the four daily time periods.

For both competitions, candidates must submit their application by June 24 electronically through the inPa recruitment portal of the Public Service Department.
