Catania man scaled gutter and abused young woman in his home: sentenced and arrested

A 34-year-old criminal with a previous record was arrested by the carabinieri of Ragusa after being sentenced to four years in prison by the Court of Appeal of Catania for sexual assault. The man, originally from Catania, is accused of climbing onto the roof of a building on the outskirts of the city in June 2017 and entering a young woman’s apartment, where he assaulted her and stole her cellphone and cash. The investigation was initiated by the carabinieri following the victim’s report, and the man has since been taken to Ragusa prison after being notified of the restrictive measure.
