Catania man assaults and steals woman’s smartphone: pursued and arrested by Nas carabinieri

A 34-year-old man who had attacked a woman and stolen her smartphone near Via Ventimiglia in Catania was apprehended by carabinieri del Nas. The military, during a routine check in commercial establishments, noticed the victim on the ground and in a distressed state after the robbery. After assisting the woman, the carabinieri identified and arrested the man who had the stolen item with him. Taken to the Nas offices, the robber was identified by the victim as a 34-year-old criminal from Catania, known to the authorities for numerous similar offenses and who was subject to supervised liberty measures. After the necessary formalities, the 34-year-old was taken to prison to await trial.
