Catania: Anastasi appointed new president of city council

The municipal council of Catania has been sworn in. During the first city assembly of the new council, presided over by the oldest councillor in terms of votes, Daniele Bottino, the councillors, Mayor Enrico Trantino, and the president of the Council, Sebastiano Anastasi (32 votes), the deputy vice president, Riccardo Pellegrino (28 votes), and the vice president, Salvatore Giuffrida (29 votes), took their oaths. At the start of the meeting, the interim president, Daniele Bottino, wished Mayor Enrico Trantino well, acknowledging his broad support and mandate to face the many challenges ahead.
