During a series of checks on commercial activities in Catania and its province, the financial police found 105 irregular workers. Of these, 78 were completely undeclared, while the remaining 27, although formally employed, were paid in cash, in violation of regulations.

The checks targeted companies in the food and beverage service sector, agricultural activities, and tourist facilities on the Ionian coast. In 23 cases, the finance police reported to the Territorial Labor Inspectorate the request to suspend entrepreneurial activities, following the exceeding of the 10% limit of non-regularly employed personnel. Additionally, seven non-EU workers without a valid residence permit were identified and detained for identification.
