Carmelo Palo, deputy mayor of Itala, Sicily, arrested in Assisi

Carmelo Palo, 43 years old, deputy mayor of Itala, a town in the province of Messina, was arrested by the mobile squad of the police headquarters of Catania as part of an investigation into his role as assistant chief of the prison police at the Giarre prison. A precautionary custody order was carried out against him while he was in Assisi for the feast of San Francesco.
