A 10-year-old child was seriously injured in a road accident on the A18 motorway, the Messina-Catania, between Fiumefreddo and Giarre, in the direction of Catania. He was in an Audi A4 driven by his mother which, for reasons under investigation, crashed into the guardrail. Also in the car was an older brother of the child, who suffered minor abrasions. The 10-year-old child is hospitalized at the Policlinico in Catania. The Highway Police of Giardini Naxos intervened for investigations at the scene.
