An accident occurred between a car and a cement mixer on the state highway 115 in the area of Gela. The collision occurred just before the Manfria junction, where the driver of the cement mixer lost control for reasons that are still being investigated. The cement mixer overturned and hit a car, leaving the driver of the car seriously injured. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and transported the injured person to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the cement mixer was also injured but in less serious condition. The fire department and highway police were on the scene to manage traffic, as the accident caused major delays. Investigations are ongoing to determine the sequence of events. This is the second accident on the state highway 115 in Gela in the past two days. Yesterday, two cars collided head-on, resulting in injuries to a man and a woman who were both taken to the hospital. The area experienced heavy traffic delays as a result.
