Giuseppe Bruno, an 81-year-old retired carabinieri officer from Capo d’Orlando, did not survive the serious injuries he sustained in a car accident last week on via Cordovena in Capo d’Orlando. He passed away at Papardo Hospital in Messina, where he had been transferred by helicopter from the hospital in Sant’Agata di Militello, where he had initially been transported from Capo d’Orlando by ambulance.

He was cycling on via Cordovena with his assisted bicycle when he was hit by a car that was parking. The driver of the car, a woman from Capo d’Orlando, is currently being investigated by the local traffic police. To determine the exact details of the collision, the traffic police have obtained surveillance footage from nearby businesses.
