Campobello di Licata: Mayor Pitruzzella removed, new elections called

The Council of Administrative Justice (CGA) has annulled the results of the local elections in Campobello di Licata, in the province of Agrigento, Italy. A new election will likely take place in the autumn. The decision was made following a complaint filed by the unsuccessful mayoral candidate Michele Termini, who celebrated the CGA’s ruling. The current mayor, Antonio Pitruzzella, who took office after the June 12th elections last year, will now step down. The CGA invalidated the entire election and the subsequent appointment of the mayor and town councilors. A commissioner will be appointed, and a new election will be held.
