Explain in brief the following article:
New trial for a minor who allegedly did not prevent his friend from taking his own life. This is the fourth trial after the previous conviction was overturned by the Supreme Court, with the case now being sent to the Court of Appeals in Palermo.
Yes, because the Supreme Court has overturned, albeit not definitively, the two-year and twenty-day prison sentence for incitement to suicide that was imposed on the then minor, now nineteen years old (defended by lawyer Gaetano Giunta). The charge is related to the death of the twenty-six-year-old, also from Nisseno, Mirko Antonio La Mendola (the family is represented by lawyer Rosario Didato), who took his own life with a gunshot one summer evening three years ago on a beach in Agrigento.
A detailed report by Vincenzo Falci in today’s edition of Giornale di Sicilia.
