The Life Aid Center of Caltanissetta, chaired by the lawyer.
Giuseppa Naro, taking up the statements of the national president Marina Casini, president of the Italian Movement for Life, declared about the story that animates the debate of recent days about euthanasia:
“The story of the very young Archie and the struggle for the life of his parents, Hollie and Paul, must question us all.
Archie like Charlie, Alfie, Isaiah, belongs to that group of discarded people that he is denied to live, victims of a sick society and reveals its contradictions and obscurity.
In Archie’s case, the pain of discarding is twofold: first due to the challenge to death through online games, and subsequently due to the decision of the Royal London Hospital endorsed by the British government and the Supreme Court to unplug the machinery that supports the life of Archie.
Gratitude to Hollie and Paul, because with their example they allow us to reflect on the greatness of the parental bond aimed at the unconditional acceptance of all children born and not yet born.
We hope that the “Charlie Gard law” will be approved, which strengthens the rights of parents who oppose doctors who want to give up life support for their children.
