The conditions of the six customers who were hit by a Mini Cooper while sitting at outdoor tables in the historic center of Caltagirone are fortunately not serious. Five of them have completed medical examinations and are expected to be discharged from the hospital soon. The sixth injured person, a 56-year-old who suffered abdominal trauma, will remain under observation. The driver, a 76-year-old resident of Milan, was reported to the authorities by the municipal police for negligent injuries. It is likely that the man was unfamiliar with the automatic transmission of the car and accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the car to crash into the bar patrons. The incident was captured by the surveillance cameras in the area.
