Calascibetta to pay 80,000 euros for unrealized San Pietro slope consolidation project

After thirty-five years, the Municipality of Calascibetta will be forced to pay eighty thousand euros, of which 75 thousand will go to the technicians, for a project that was never realized. This was decided by a judgment from the Court of Appeal of Caltanissetta, which overturned the ruling of the Court of Enna that had sided with the Municipality. The project was commissioned by the municipal administration in 1988 to two engineers and a geologist to develop a plan for the consolidation of the northern slope of Piazza San Pietro, but the contract was never signed by the mayor and the project was never funded. The engineers had initially requested a payment of 65 thousand euros, which was reduced to 53 thousand by the Court of Appeal. In addition, the Municipality of Calascibetta has been ordered to pay 5 thousand euros for legal expenses, bringing the total amount to just over 75 thousand euros.
