Bone marrow, coordinator of the Sicily Transplant Center: “More donors are needed”

From tomorrow, the “Match it now” campaign will begin, which is the eighth edition of the national bone marrow and hematopoietic stem cell donation week, coinciding with World Marrow Donor Day established by Wmda. The week is promoted by the National Transplant Center, the National Blood Center, the Ibmdr Registry, Gitmo, and the Admo and Adoces associations, with the support of Adisco. In Sicily, volunteer associations and professionals in the field will be present to recruit and guide donors. The regional Ibmdr network and local associations are vital for promoting this week dedicated to marrow donation. Efforts are being made to increase the number of young donors between 18 and 36 years old. The support of the regional health department and associations is crucial for the success of the campaign.
