Bingo halls closed and 2,000 workers at risk in Sicily, protest in Palermo on Wednesday

The revolt of the workers of the bingo halls and gaming halls broke out. Next Wednesday, May 12, the unions Filcams Cgil, Fisascat Cisl and Uiltucs Uil will protest in front of the prefecture of Palermo in the context of a national demonstration to ask for more attention to the category.

There are about two thousand workers in the sector in Sicily now stationary in business since last October, coming from a further previous closure due to lockdown and now at the end of their economies.

“As if that were not enough – write the general secretaries Monja Caiolo, Mimma Calabr√≤ and Marianna Flauto – to all this are added the latest government measures, also projected for the next few weeks, which seem to have set aside any possibility of reopening in the medium term, relegating the workers of the “legal game” to a wait that now seems interminable as well as to a condition that borders on poverty “. The unions ask the prefect to represent the strong concern for the sector.
