"Belladonna, healers and witches", the tour for Palermo between medicine and inquisition

Last summer appointment, Friday 30 August at 8.45 pm from Piazza Santo Spirito, with “Belladonna. Healers, witches and poisoners ", the historical-anthropological narrated walk conceived and proposed by Tacus Art Integration Culture.

Poisons, magic herbs, therapeutic magic and folk medicine. From Giulia Tofana to the Old Vinegar, a journey on the trail of healers, witches and excellent poisoners, to reconstruct the socio-cultural identity of the woman and the relationship with the Medical College and the Court of the Holy Inquisition. From the recipe books of the medics to the processes of witchcraft, an all-female investigation of the thin line between medicine and witchcraft. The gathering of the participants is scheduled at 8.45 pm in Piazza Santo Spirito (flight of steps). The contribution to support the initiative is € 3 Tacus members – € 5 non-members.

NB: The tour is a traveling story and is not intended as a guided tour; there are no entrances to monumental sites and the route will be totally external. Membership of the initiative is valid only by reservation, to be made by telephone at 320.2267975 (also WhatsApp). In case of failure to reach the minimum number of participants, adverse weather conditions, anomalies or unexpected events, the staff reserves the right to cancel / postpone the event.
