Bas-relief kept at the Ursino Castle on display in Forlì

The marble bas-relief depicting Polyphemus' blindness kept in the Civic Museum of Castello Ursino will go on loan to be exhibited in the exhibition "Ulysses, art and myth" set up in Forlì in the San Domenico Museums which will open its doors on February 14th. The City Council has decided to move the work with prior insurance coverage paid by the exhibition organizers. The exhibition, organized by the Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì Foundation, in collaboration with the Municipality of Forlì and with the patronage of the President of the Republic, will remain open until June 21 when the bas-relief will return to its original location in Castello Ursino. It is the fragment, in yellow marble, of a sarcophagus dating from between 180 and 190 After Christ.
