In Bagheria, the outgoing mayor Filippo Maria Tripoli (Together Bagheria), a former UDC member and current leader of Italia Viva, supported by seven popular and reformist civic lists, is reportedly in the lead with 71% in the race for mayor when 13 sections out of 55 have been counted. Following him is Massimo Gargano at 16.69%, supported by an alliance formed by Forza Italia, Brothers of Italy, Movement for Autonomy, Sicilian Action Movement, along with the civic group “L’Aquilone”, then Pina Provino at 7.43%, supported by Totò Cuffaro’s DC, and Rosario Giammanco at 4.65%, a retired nurse and a well-known figure in Bagheria politics with six terms as a city councilor. The total number of voters is 48,994.
