Bagheria: 65-year-old woman faints after thieves steal gold necklace with photo of deceased son

A 65-year-old woman was robbed of her gold necklace in Bagheria while she was in her car. As soon as she was robbed, she collapsed on the ground, fainting from fear, and was taken to the Pte, the territorial emergency point (pictured in the photo). She has abrasions on her neck caused by the robbery. The two robbers fled on a scooter.

The robbery took place on Via Veneto, near Corso Umberto, one of the two main roads in the city. It was 11:30 this morning (April 29th), the woman, inside the parked car, was approached by a young man. The young man got off a scooter, driven by an accomplice. He snatched the gold necklace, which also had a pendant with a photo of her 22-year-old son who died a few years ago.

The investigations are being conducted by the officers of the police station who have interviewed the woman and some potential witnesses. The carabinieri also arrived on the scene. The footage captured by the cameras is being analyzed.
