Autistic girl from Palermo not enrolled in catechism, Diocese: “She will be welcomed”

The Archdiocese of Palermo has reassured a family that their autistic child will be welcome to participate in catechism classes like any other child. They emphasized their commitment to inclusivity, citing past training seminars for inclusive catechists and the importance of having well-prepared individuals who can help these children and communities to truly embrace inclusive paths. The Church of Palermo has long focused on serving the most vulnerable, including those with disabilities. They currently have around 120 volunteers offering their time for this purpose throughout the diocese.
