At the end of the month, the Onda Festival

From 30 to 31 July Valderice will host at the “On. Nino Croce ”the fourth edition of Onda Festival , the “Made in Sicily” music festival which will make use of the artistic direction of the Sicilian musician and producer Rino Marchese who will once again create a special and original format this year. Onda Festival sanctions the return of live music in one of the most beautiful open-air theaters in Sicily with artists from the Sicilian music scene as protagonists. It begins Friday 30 July, with the live of Nazarin, Sicilian singer-songwriter. He recently released a new record called “1981” of class and quality, maintaining his high standards. Nazarin expresses himself with a folk pop mixed with experimentation and something that cannot be labeled. Following, the same evening, the atmospheres of Cesare Basile. Its identity is not rock, it is not blues, it is not world music, it is not folk. Or, rather, in the end it’s all of this put together. Cummeddia, his latest album, expresses a Sicily with a high African vocation. Saturday 31 July, the closing of the festival is entrusted to Mario Venuti with his band and Tony Canto. After the release on the radio and digital of “Ma che cold fa” on 7 May, Mario Venuti returns this summer with a new tour that will touch the stage of Onda Festival. Mario will meet his audience by presenting acoustically in addition to the songs of his repertoire, some of the songs that will be part of the new disc. The live has the artistic production of Tony Canto, who will be with Mario Venuti on stage together with Neney Bispo Dos Santos, Vincenzo Virgillito and Manola Micalizzi on percussion and choirs. The last word will be by Eleonora Bordonaro, Sicilian singer-songwriter and interpreter, with a flexible and intense vocality. His record is not about women but makes women talk. On courage, on equal treatment, on motherhood. “Moviti Ferma” is the title: an oxymoron of language and thought that reveals the ancient dualism between evolving or resisting, between leaving and staying. «We want to start from here, together, from Onda Festival – are the words of the artistic director Rino Marchese – After the experience of the lockdown, which I experienced in the Anglo-Saxon world, I felt the need to organize this Festival again. Valderice is my place of the heart, where I have lived the best moments of my life, here I come to give shape to my projects. Onda Festival encompasses all of this. The “On. Nino Croce ”is a magical place. The Onda Festival program features artists who share a great passion for Sicily ». Onda Festival is organized by the Municipality of Valderice and the Musical Association “Rinoscky Music”, with the contribution of the Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment of the Sicilian Region, ARS – Sicilian Regional Assembly and the support of companies. The event received the free patronage of the Tourist District of Western Sicily and is included in the KeepOn Festival Experience circuit and in the Trapani Network for Community Tourism. Rino Marchese is a Sicilian musician and producer who lives between Sicily, England and Poland. Rinoscky Records is a real music production and audio design laboratory as well as an organization and communication center for musical events, concerts, workshops and video production. A laboratory space where skills, planning and new proposals converge; a space that is a place of meeting, dialogue and collaboration between professionals and artists. His record label is a reservoir of musical avant-garde, production and communication of sound research for Sicilian musical talents but also an experience of contamination with other artists and with the influences of the lively local, national and international music and artistic scene.
