A homeless and undocumented Senegalese man was arrested by the local police in Catania after being caught by a security guard attempting to steal a tablet, a power supply unit, a camera, and various electrical cables from the Unicredit branch on Sant’Euplio Street. The foreign national, along with other accomplices who managed to escape, had entered the bank after cutting the alarm system cables and forcing open the basement door. The Senegalese man was arrested for attempted aggravated theft, along with unidentified accomplices, and on the order of the prosecutor, he was transferred to a secure facility pending a speedy trial scheduled for this morning.
