Ancient fragment of spear found intertwined with cow bone in Selinunte

The article discusses the recent findings of the archaeological mission of New York University at the Temple R site in the park of Selinunte, Trapani. A fragment of a spear crossed with a bovine bone dating back to 570 BC was discovered after just a week of excavations. Sixty students from various universities, led by Professor Clemente Marconi, are studying the sacred area of Temple R dedicated to female deities. Different groups are investigating the temple walls, the cella, and the surrounding areas, uncovering evidence of ancient rituals and construction techniques. The mission, scheduled to continue until the first week of July, aims to add new insights to the study of temple monuments in the Acropolis area.
