Share From tomorrow Villa Filippina becomes the setting for the provincial party of Unity organized by the Democratic Party. Six days of discussions, interviews and entertainment. The title of the political event, which returns in the presence and in the city, is “Destination contentment: A future for cities”. At the center of the debates and proposals is Palermo and its metropolitan area. With the Festa dell’Unità the path that will lead to the next local elections in May 2022 opens up. “We need to build a great development project that brings together and enhances the wealth of the entire territory – comments the provincial secretary Rosario Filoramo -. We will propose to the citizens of Palermo and the other 81 municipalities a great leap in quality with the birth of a truly great Metropolitan City. But to do so you need to be generous, give up small pockets of local power in favor of a big goal that provides for the common management of services such as transport, waste, water, but also cemeteries and large sports facilities “. The opening of the six days is scheduled for tomorrow at 6 pm, in the “Monsù” space, with Rosario Filoramo, Sergio Martorana, Rosalia Stadarelli and Rosario Arcoleo. The presentation meeting of the Festival will be moderated by the editorial director of, Maurizio Scaglione. At 7 pm Mario Barresi, journalist of La Sicilia, will interview the regional secretary of the Pd Anthony Barbagallo. This will be followed by the meeting dedicated to the “PNRR, EU Funds: Hub for the development of the Metropolitan area”. Speakers will include Giuseppe Antoci (honorary president of the Caponnetto Foundation), Ignazio Baudo (Uil Palermo), Patrizia Di Dio (president of Confcommercio Palermo), Fabrizio Escheri (president of the Order of Accountants of Palermo), Leonardo La Piana (general secretary of CISL Palermo), Federico Lasco ( general manager “Programming” of the Sicilian Region), Giuseppe Lupo (leader of the Pd all’Ars), Massimiliano Miconi (president of Ance Palermo) and Pasqualino Monti (president of the Western Sicily Port Authority). The meeting will be coordinated by Cleo Li Calzi from the Development and Infrastructure Department of the Democratic Party. At the same time, at 7 pm, the Planetarium of Parco Villa Filippina will lead guests through guided tours of the Astronomical Museum, to conclude with observations of the celestial vault. The entrance ticket to the Planetarium is 3 euros for adults and is free for children up to 10 years accompanied by a parent.
