Passion, identity, and vision. Second day of the Sicilia Motori Expo, the leading regional magazine in the sector that has been informing and captivating the Sicilian people for 41 years. Today it’s the turn of the Alfa Romeo Classic and Historic Club, “which will give a very interesting and comprehensive overview of the Alfas built after the war – explains Dario Pennica, director and founder of the magazine. – The Expo, of which Giornale di Sicilia is a media partner, is going very well. It is an event that goes where the market and the presence of the public demand, and Mondello is proving to be an important place as it did last year.”

The influx of people and curious visitors is constant from the early hours of the morning, when the cars are already displayed in their designated spots. There are children running towards their favorite models and adults carefully examining the interiors and designs. “Despite it being a working day,” Pennica continues, “there has been and still is a lot of interest.” The magazine has been a true beacon for enthusiasts for many years and has always managed to capture the needs and tastes of the public, which have evolved alongside Sicilia Motori: “At the foundation is a great passion for our work,” he recounts. “I consider myself lucky to have turned my passion into a profession. When we started, they predicted a very short lifespan, but here we are today.” The geography of the territory has helped the magazine, as Pennica explains, “the fact that we are an island with well-defined borders has helped us a lot in creating a strong identity. We have given space to those who fuel this passion, we have told many stories and accompanied many drivers in their career.” Pennica takes pride in this. It demonstrates the vision, attention, and refined taste of the magazine, which “has been following Gabriele Minì for some time now, one of the latest drivers we are talking about and who, if everything goes as planned, will soon land in Formula One.”

Minì is the recent winner (just over a month ago) of the Monaco Grand Prix, one of the historic and most challenging circuits in the history of motorsports. “Certainly, it is not our merit,” Pennica jokes, “but we have been following him for years, a sign of our attention and foresight.” And Sicilia Motori seems to bring a lot of luck: “In the past, we followed Cairoli (Italian motorcycle champion) who won nine world titles – says the magazine’s director – evidently we have made the right choices, and we have the satisfaction of seeing champions grow.”
