Ahead of European elections, Leoluca Orlando willing to run

In an interview with Tgr Rai Sicilia, former mayor of Palermo Leoluca Orlando announces that he is willing to run as a European Parliament candidate again. He challenges the secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, stating that this will be an opportunity to see if Schlein’s new leadership will be influenced by certain factions. Orlando, who recently completed his fifth term as mayor at the age of 76, has been considered as a potential candidate for the upcoming 2024 European elections. He previously served as a deputy in Brussels from 1994 to 1999.
