Agrigento, released repeats harassment of a woman: prohibition of approach and electronic ankle bracelet ordered.

The prohibition on approaching the victim, as well as the prohibition on communicating with the victim and the use of electronic ankle monitoring, has been ordered by the judge of the Agrigento court. This decision comes after a prompt request from the Prosecutor’s Office, led by interim head Salvatore Vella, against S.R., who is being investigated for stalking a businesswoman from Agrigento. The woman has been subjected to persecution and threats by the man for years, and he was recently acquitted and released due to mental incapacity.
The measure has already been implemented by the police of the Rapid Response Unit. If violated, the man will return to prison. For 8 years, the woman has been a victim of “psychological and moral violence, as well as damage,” as she wrote on social media last Thursday. After 3 years of pretrial detention, numerous restrictive measures, and many disturbing incidents, her stalker was acquitted due to his inability to understand and intent, and therefore, he is free. He is now free to engage in a new activity: stealing my photos, creating fake profiles, and requesting contact with people close to me.
With her post, the woman was warning all her acquaintances not to accept friendship requests from anyone using her name and face. She added, “He is also free to continue doing what he did before, which is bombarding me with calls, messages, and threats. And this is because the court of appeals has also canceled the last measures taken in response to the threats.” The Diocesan Caritas of Agrigento, where the young woman volunteers, immediately came to her defense.
