Agrigento: 24-year-old critically injured by car while crossing on pedestrian crossing.

A 24-year-old girl was hit by a car while crossing the street last night in Agrigento. The accident happened at Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. According to initial reports, the girl from Favara was crossing the pedestrian crosswalk when she was hit by a vintage car, a Lancia Appia. The impact was severe and she was thrown onto the road after being propelled several meters. The girl’s condition appeared to be serious, and passersby immediately called for help. An ambulance from the 118 Gise and the carabinieri of the provincial command arrived at the scene. The first aid was provided, but due to the severity of the girl’s injuries, she was transferred to San Giovanni di Dio Hospital in critical condition. The driver, who stopped immediately after the accident, has been questioned by the carabinieri and repeatedly claimed not to have seen the girl crossing. This is not the first time dangerous accidents have occurred at Piazza Vittorio Emanuele.
