Aggravated theft, injuries and drug dealing: five arrests in Messina

Yesterday evening, the Carabinieri of the Messina Centro Company, supported by the patrols of the Radiomobile Nucleus, controls intensified along the main road arteries of the Peloritan capital and in particular controls have been set up in order to combat the sale of narcotic substances and predatory crimes in general, with particular attention to compliance with anti-covid legislation.

During the services, in implementation of prison orders issued by the competent Judicial Authority, the Carabinieri of the Stations of Villafranca Tirrena, Messina Principale, Camaro, Giostra and Castanea delle Furie arrested five people. MN, 72, will have to atone, under home detention, the penalty of 3 years of imprisonment for slander.

Instead they were translated at the Messina Gazzi prison where they will have to serve their respective sentences:

  • BA, 37, who must atone for a cumulative sentence of 7 years of imprisonment for various sentences for the crime of aggravated theft;
  • MA, 41, against whom 4 years and 3 months of imprisonment were applied for the crimes of aggravated theft and personal injury;
  • CC, 34 years old, already subjected to probation, who will now have to expiate the sentence of 1 year in prison for drug dealing;
  • KPKP, 53 year old originally from Sri Lanka who was sentenced to 11 months in prison for aggravated theft.

In addition, during the services, more than 100 people and 50 cars were checked, raising 3 violations to the highway code and the Carabinieri also ascertained violations of the law planned to contain the spread of the virus COVID-19, with consequent high administrative penalties against 25 people.

Finally, two young people were found in possession of modest quantities of marijuana, subjected to seizure for subsequent laboratory analyzes, and for this reason they were reported to the local Prefecture.
