Yesterday afternoon the woman from Papua New Guinea landed at Molo Favaloro, and this morning her waters broke and she was transferred to the Poliambulatorio in Contrada Grecale, where she gave birth to her sixth daughter. The woman was assisted by a team led by Salvatore Di Lorenzo, a gynecologist from Asp di Palermo, supported by the continuity of care doctor, Giovanni Pace, and nurses Maria Raimondo and Giovanni Costantino. Di Lorenzo explained that they immediately activated the surgical room, equipped with sterile delivery kits. Both mother and baby are doing well and have already been transferred by helicopter to a hospital facility. In the last 40 days, there have already been 3 emergency births at the Asp di Palermo healthcare facility in Lampedusa.
