The XX edition Of Adopt a writerthe project of the Turin International Book Fair and supported by the Association of Piedmont Banking Foundations, in collaboration with the CON IL SUD Foundation, which this year celebrates its first twenty years.

Adopt a writer is a project that has been focusing on reading for 20 years, involving great authors and bringing them to institutes of all types and levels throughout Italy.
As with every edition, students receive a free copy of the book by the author or adopted author.
The goal is to create a fruitful confrontation between author and class, an intimate group, through which to question the meaning of literature and the themes that the books raise.
Each “adoption” provides in fact three dates (two online and one in person) e the final fourth on 23 May in attendance in Turin at the XXXIV edition of the Book Fair.

To date, thanks to the initiative, 433 adoptions have been completed for a total of 12,642 students, from primary school to universities to prisons, involving 260 of the most important authors of Italian literature of the last forty years.

The details of the meetings:

Anna Parisiauthor de The history of science told to children (Salani), will arrive in Capaci, at the Alcide De Gasperi III primary school.
He will meet the students: Tuesday 5 April online, then Wednesday 20 April in person and finally Tuesday 10 May online.
Scientific popularizer, Parisi is a physicist and for ten years worked in the research center of a multinational.
You won the 2001 Legambiente Award for the volume Magic numbers and wandering stars and the Andersen Prize for the best dissemination series with series Ah, Know! – Introduction to physics.
He will return to the Ucciardone in Palermo for the second time Lelio Bonaccorso, author and cartoonist, who will talk with the restricted students of the Provincial Center for Adult Education Nelson Mandela (the dates will be announced shortly).
Author of Wind of freedom (Tunuè), Bonaccorso drew several texts by Marco Rizzo, including Peppino Impastato – A jester against the mafia, The mafia explained to children And Immigration explained to children.
He has collaborated with Marvel, DC Comics, Glénat, Sergio Bonelli Editore and Disney.

In addition to the 26 adoptions already announced in Piedmont and Trento, Adopt a writer returns – thanks to the CON IL SUD Foundation – with 9 adoptions also in 6 other Italian regions: Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Puglia, Sardinia (and Sicily).
