With the lifting of house arrest, the 54-year-old architect of Santa Caterina Alfonso Gaetano Ippolito, arrested in recent weeks by the Finance Police on charges of extortion and self-laundering, returns free. The judges, accepting the appeal of the defense lawyers Giuseppe Dacquì and Stefano Rametta, also revoked the seizure of 173 thousand euros ordered by the investigating judge. According to the accusation Ippolito, director of a company based in Santa Caterina, had forced several employees, under penalty of dismissal, to return part of the sums paid to them as salaries by creating black accounts. The facts cover a period of time between 2011 and 2018; according to the findings of the yellow flames one of the employees, in all these years, would have returned a sum of almost 50 thousand euros and other lower sums. In his appeal, the lawyer Dacquì had argued that there was no evidence of the return of money and the creation of slush funds. (Vincenzo Pane, Sicily)
