A woman from Palermo slips along a trail in Salina, rescued by alpine rescue and aeronautics.

The Sicilian Alpine and Speleological Rescue and the 82nd Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) team of the Italian Air Force are still in action to rescue an injured tourist in Salina. The woman, a 50-year-old from Palermo residing in Milan, slipped on the trail and suspectedly fractured her ankle, preventing her from continuing. Three members of the Alpine Rescue noticed the accident and provided initial assistance. Due to the extreme weather conditions and the rugged terrain, the military aircraft was activated to minimize risks, and the local emergency services were alerted. The woman was airlifted to the hospital for treatment.
