A twenty-four-year-old person goes missing from home in Caltagirone and is found dead after three days.

A 24-year-old young man from Caltagirone, Andrea Di Modica, was found dead three days after his disappearance, after leaving home on the evening of July 20th. An autopsy will now be performed to clarify the circumstances. Immediate searches were activated upon the report of his disappearance, involving the Carabinieri, Forest Service, search dogs from the fire brigade in Catania, municipal civil protection, and volunteers from various law enforcement associations. The mayor of Caltagirone, Fabio Roccuzzo, expressed his condolences to the family of Andrea and the entire community of Caltagirone. The body of the young man was found in the Balchino area following a tip-off. The mayor had previously appealed on social media for help in finding him.
