A square dedicated to Major La Rosa, the hero soldier of Barcelona who died in Afghanistan.

Entitled this morning (May 26) in Borgosesia, in the Vercelli area, the square of Bersaglieri d’Italia in memory of Major Giuseppe La Rosa, gold medal for military valor. “We remembered a man who at thirty years old in Afghanistan died shielding his comrades. – writes Alberto Cirio, governor of Piedmont, present at the ceremony and procession with the Bersaglieri of Valsesia – We must transmit to our children the values for which our grandparents fought and promote peace, freedom, memory to leave future generations a world a little better than we found it. ”

Major La Rosa, originally from Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, was killed by a device on June 8, 2013 in Farah, in western Afghanistan. In 2014 he was awarded the gold medal for military valor, posthumously.
