Wake up with a bang and a lot of fear for the inhabitants of the Arenella district in Palermo. A ridge of rock, fortunately stopped along via Cardinale Mariano Rampolla, broke away from Monte Pellegrino, causing a big roar. Firefighters and carabinieri intervened on the spot. “It all happened at 9.30 – says Alessandro Frasca, who lives a few meters from the place – and to reach the road hit by the piece of collapsed mountain they had to go by means of transport from Via Papa X”.
In the next few hours the area will be cordoned off with nets.
