Gas leak during Rosalia’s reborn festival at Sperone
Gas leak from a manhole cover in Sacco and Vanzetti street in Palermo. The alarm was raised by a police officer on duty at the Sperone festival, which took place this afternoon without any interruptions. Fire brigade checks confirmed the presence of a leak. Amg Gas technicians were also called to repair the pipeline: the company announced that “repair activities will be carried out tomorrow morning (Saturday, October 26th) and as a precaution a section of the road has been closed to traffic.”
The area around the leak has been secured. Mayor Roberto Lagalla was also present at the event, and simply diverted the route without any inconvenience.
