89-year-old from Caltabellotta regains suspended driver’s license 27 years later

The 89-year-old man from Caltabellotta had his driver’s license suspended in 1996 and had to wait 27 years to get it back. The suspension was due to a lack of moral requirements as he was under special surveillance for public safety. After serving his sentence, he requested his license back but was rejected. With the help of his lawyers, he took his case to court and after a long legal battle, the civil judge in Palermo ruled in his favor and his license was returned. Now, he may also seek compensation for the lengthy legal process.
