An 83-year-old retired man died at the emergency room of Barone Lombardo hospital in Canicattì, where he had come due to liver pain. The family members have reported 5 doctors and 2 nurses for the suspected crime of manslaughter. The police have acquired and seized the medical records and the body of the elderly man, as ordered by the local magistrate. Last Friday (August 25th), the elderly man was brought to the emergency room due to abdominal fluids caused by hepatitis. According to the formal complaint by the family, the patient was not assisted and only after several hours was the death of the retiree declared. The body of the elderly man will now undergo an autopsy. The acquired medical records revealed that the man had significant pre-existing health conditions.
