71-year-old killed in workplace incident as fence wall collapses in Comiso

A 71-year-old man, Giovanni Re, died this afternoon (Thursday, November 30th) in contrada Cicogna, in the territory of Comiso, after being crushed by a collapsing fence wall. The elderly man, along with a peer who was unharmed, was presumably carrying out work inside a private property. The Ragusa fire brigade, with the help of a mechanical vehicle provided by private individuals, freed the victim, who was found dead. The Comiso carabinieri, 118 emergency medical services, and a coroner also intervened, confirming the man’s death.
