60 kilos of marijuana transported, two arrests in Catania

Two Albanian men, aged 26 and 20, were arrested in Ficarazzi for transporting 60 kilograms of marijuana intended for the Catania market. The 20-year-old was driving a car registered to an Albanian woman and was caught bringing the marijuana to an apartment in a residential complex. The 26-year-old was driving a Fiat Tipo and was stopped by the police as he was heading towards San Gregorio. In addition to the drugs, the police also found more marijuana and drug packaging materials in the apartment. They also found 650 grams of hashish, the same packaging materials, and illegally held ammunition at the 26-year-old’s residence in San Giorgio. The two men are now in prison awaiting trial.
