520 new Covid cases in Sicily, positive booms in Catania and Ragusa | Health

107 new cases in Catania, 103 in Ragusa and 81 in Caltanissetta, the island is still third in Italy for the number of daily infections

Palermo, 22 July – The new cases of Covid-19 recorded in the last 24 hours in Sicily are 520 out of 13,152 swabs processed, where the current positives rise to 6,603. The island is third in Italy for new daily infections after Veneto and Lazio. The data is contained in the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health, which shows that the healed in a single day were 106 and the victims 2 (6,021 since the beginning of the health emergency).


Of the current positives, 158 patients are hospitalized with symptoms, while 22 patients are in intensive care. This is the breakdown of the new cases on a provincial basis: 34 in Palermo, 107 in Catania, 23 in Messina, 103 in Ragusa, 42 in Trapani, 38 in Syracuse, 81 in Caltanissetta, 72 in Agrigento and 20 in Enna.
