4-month-old baby in critical condition after car accident in Modica, now out of danger

Doctors at the Garibaldi Hospital in Catania have lifted the prognosis of the 4-month-old girl who had been hospitalized for four months in the pediatric Intensive Care Unit with a reserved prognosis and considered at risk of life due to a head injury sustained in a road accident that occurred on July 1st Modica-Ragusa, in which her parents were also injured. Providing the first aid to the girl at the time of the accident was her father, followed by the immediate and effective intervention of the 118 emergency personnel. After four months of hospitalization in the unit directed by Giusy Stancanelli, she was transferred yesterday afternoon to the Pediatrics department, directed by Antonino Palermo, where a specialized team will assist her in her discharge. “The girl – explains Dr. Stancanelli – has resumed all her vital functions, avoiding serious trauma and danger.
