There are currently 294 migrants being hosted at the Lampedusa hotspot, where yesterday evening (August 23), 34 Bangladeshis and Egyptians arrived on an 8-meter wooden boat that had departed from Zwara, Libya. The boat was intercepted by the coast guard vessel G 206. Yesterday, 286 migrants were transferred from the island, with a flight to Bergamo and the Cossyra ferry arriving in Porto Empedocle, where 111 individuals, including 108 unaccompanied minors, were disembarked at dawn today.
