The barrel batteries that explode in Palermo in various neighborhoods of the capital come from Naples and by mail. This was discovered by the finance police of the provincial command of the Guardia di Finanza in Palermo, who managed to reconstruct the journey of the fireworks and seized over 220 kilograms of explosive material divided into 50 batteries of 100 launches each.
The soldiers of the second metropolitan operational unit sifted through the senders and recipients of the packages where the type of material sent was not specified. One of the recipients of over 5000 fireworks was reported for endangering public transportation safety with highly flammable and potentially explosive material without the prescribed precautions and safety regulations, and for the possession of explosive materials.
