11-day-old baby dies in Di Cristina: inquiry opened

After being discharged, the baby experienced health issues and was taken to the hospital again where she underwent various tests. Despite being discharged, the baby’s condition worsened, and she eventually died at the hospital. The parents suspect medical negligence and have requested an investigation. The Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into involuntary manslaughter and ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The parents believe the baby could have been saved if she had been admitted to the hospital and monitored by medical staff.
