An eleven-day-old baby girl died at the Di Cristina hospital in Palermo after experiencing breathing problems and being rushed to the hospital. The baby was born at the Civico hospital via C-section after a normal pregnancy. After being discharged, the baby experienced health issues and was taken to the hospital again where she underwent various tests. Despite being discharged, the baby’s condition worsened, and she eventually died at the hospital. The parents suspect medical negligence and have requested an investigation. The Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into involuntary manslaughter and ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The parents believe the baby could have been saved if she had been admitted to the hospital and monitored by medical staff.
